Order the ‘Chef’s Choice’ Menu at Nina May

There’s a charming story behind the name of Nina May, a newly opened restaurant in DC’s Shaw neighborhood. Owners Colin McClimans and Danilo Simic wanted to honor their two daughters, and so the restaurant bears both girls’ first names.

Nina May serves New American fare and is designed to be a neighborhood gathering place, where friends and family meet to share meals, laughter, and good will. The menu is seasonal and hyperlocal (meaning ingredients are sourced from within 150 miles of the restaurant). This also means that the menu is constantly changing to feature whatever is freshest and in-season at the moment. Whenever you visit, though, you can expect to find dishes that are simultaneously familiar and inventive, like roasted chicken with sweet potato gratin and braised leeks on the side, or little neck clams with chorizo and potato dumplings.

Want to get the full Nina May experience? Order the “chef’s choice” menu option and the chef will send a custom meal to your table.
