Mix and Match Your Tacos at Bar Lorea

Since opening its doors in November, Bar Lorea has already developed a reputation for serving tasty Mexican cantina-style street food in an atmosphere that’s warm and welcoming. The restaurant itself is long and narrow, with a bar running the entire length of the dining room and tables lining the opposite wall. The decor is crisp and modern, with navy blue and white walls, hurricane lamp lighting, and lots of live plants bringing some greenery to the space.

The menu is focused, with a handful of shareable apps (guacamole with chips, grilled street corn, etc.), and a choice between tacos or caldero mains. You can mix and match a few different tacos (Yelpers recommend the classic carnitas with pickled onions, as well as the veggie-only varieties, like cauliflower with chipotle or sweet potato with cashews), or go for a hearty caldero bowl of pollo guisado (chicken, potatoes, spazote, tomatoes, and more), slow-simmered for hours to meld the flavors.
