Get Outdoors and Enjoy the Springtime at the Blossom Kite Festival on March 30

It’s almost Cherry Blossom season, and the National Mall has tons of family-friendly events to mark this unofficial start of Spring. Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 30 for the Blossom Kite Festival, a soaring exhibit of kites set against the blooming blossoms at the Washington Monument.

Plenty of professionals will be on hand to dazzle you with impressive tricks, but novices are also welcome to showcase their flying skills. Watch competitions and demonstration, bring your own kite to fly, or work with your little ones to make and decorate a kite at the activity station. You can even purchase a unique kite right on site to get into the air. The Blossom Kite Festival is fun for all ages, and another great excuse to get outside and enjoy this yearly DC tradition.

Stop by the celebration from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the grassy area near 17th Street and Constitution Avenue. No reservation or tickets are needed, and the Blossom Kite Festival is free to attend.
