“Washington Dollar Days: Tour for a Buck” at Tudor Place, Now Through February 28

These days it’s hard to find much of anything on sale for just $1, but now through the end of February a single dollar will get you an hour-long historic house tour and unlimited access to the gardens at Tudor Place. The estate was built in 1816 by Martha Washington’s granddaughter and today stands as a National Historic Landmark (not to mention the only museum house in the area with family ties to George and Martha Washington).

On your tour, you’ll get to explore public areas of the house, including the parlor, dining room and library,  as well as the family’s private spaces. Tours are available six days a week from Tuesday through Sunday, and run at the top of every hour from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. The staff at Tudor Place recommend that you reserve your tour online right away, as space is limited on each tour.
